Bardic
HL Hayali Ayşa bint Roxanna, the An Tir Bardic Champion, is coordinating an expanded Bardic presence for An Tir-West War 2026.
A “wandering minstrel” program will help encampments welcome bards into their space — and help bards know where they are most welcome. At gate, your camp can pick up a handy blue LED ground light! If you place this light outside the entrance to your camp, you are signifying that you would like for Bards to stop in during the evening to perform for you. Bards – every night of war, feel free to gather up your troupe and start wandering to perform! Standard camp etiquette rules apply – if there is a blue light, they would like you to come by, but please announce yourself at the gate and ensure they are ready for you. Ask the camp how many pieces/performances they would enjoy before you start, and expect nothing but applause for your time.
For bards who want to congregate together, you can enjoy evening jam sessions. In the evenings after classes, the A&S area will have a pavilion set aside for musicians to get together and jam. This is informal, with no signups – but if you want to find other musicians to play with, plan to head to those tents in the evenings.
Hafla Nights: Join us Thursday & Friday nights (Friday after court) for a Hafla. Location to be determined, but we’re looking at the big yellow Court pavilion or Town Square. Bring your chair and a drum, or come and dance!
And, as the Town Square Activities Coordinator, Hayali Ayşa is organizing scheduled public performances. Sign-ups will soon open for 30 minute time slots. Perform in Town Square, right in the heart of the event and by all the merchants! You do not need to fill your entire slot to sign up, though we encourage you to work with other Bards to fill time as a group if you can! This is not being moderated, but a list of the signups with open slots will be posted on a clipboard at Town Square – anything not claimed before the event starts, folks can write themselves in for an open slot. Please note this schedule will be working around scheduled events and tournaments that may use the space as well.
More information will be coming in future weeks.
